Oc5 – Elements of Islay Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

50cl / 59.8% / Elixir Distillers – Oc5 is a great example of super heavily peated whisky from Islay. Distilled in 2011 and aged in a single bourbon barrel, this is rich and initially fruity with notes of grapes and oranges. The smoke soon takes over, but as with all Oc releases, it’s balanced, well-integrated and not overpowering.
