Port Charlotte 2013 PMC:01 / 9 Year Old / Pomerol Wine Cask Finish Islay Whisky

70cl / 54.5% / Distillery Bottling – This limited release from Port Charlotte – a heavily peated whisky made at the Bruichladdich distillery on Islay – was initially aged in first-fill bourbon barrels for four years and then finished in Pomerol wine casks for a period of five years. It was released in May 2023 as part of the Cask Exploration series. Heavily influenced by the cask finish, the palate offers notes of malt sugar, peat smoke, rich blackberries, plums and aged leather.
